About

JAV Codex is an index of release metadata. We collect and organise publicly available information — product codes, titles, release dates, performers, series and labels — under one consistent numbering scheme, so a lead can be followed by code, by person, by series or by year.

This site handles text records and links to externally hosted images only. We do not store, transcode or provide any video content; cover images are served directly by their original hosts and nothing is kept here.

Traceability is the standard we hold ourselves to: every published record remembers where it came from and when it was collected. Where sources disagree we do not settle it on your behalf — the disagreement is preserved and marked.

Records are compiled programmatically and will contain mistakes. If you spot one, please tell us via the contact form.

When trade-offs are needed, the order is: safety, then compliance, then correctness, then usability, then discoverability, then aesthetics. Earlier wins over later — we do not trade accuracy for looks.
